A Truck Driver Becomes the Centerpiece for a National Artwork Competition

"Essential Cowboy" By: 2021 MHS graduate Kunyang Li

A 2021 Memorial High School student created a pencil drawing in tribute to all the essential truck drivers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The drawing was chosen as the winner of the 2021 Texas’ Seventh Congressional District’s Congressional Art Competition and will be hung in the hall of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington D.C.

Read more about the high school student and his winning piece of artwork.

We love seeing the people of our community appreciate and support our truck drivers.

What amazing talent! It’s awesome to see that young people think Trucking Is Cool.

Remember Truck Driver Appreciation Week is September 12-18

Tell an “Essential Cowboy” thank you!
